Silly question i expect but if i but a case fan can I use it either as an exhaust or blower? I presume I just turn it round.

Yup - a few case fans even have arrows on them to tell you which way they blow air. If you can't figure it out just by looking at it, take off the side of your computer, turn on the computer, plug in the fan and it should be straight forward from there. Also, most case fans have holes on both sides so that you can mount it both ways.

It would be a pretty $#%@ cheap fan if they didn't.

Also - be careful when playing with fans that are on. Most of your cheap fans won't draw blood if you stick your finger in them, but then I have had a few try and take a chunk out of my fingers.
