the rig I want to build is very UV reactive...the IDE/FD cables, power cable sleeves, molex connectors, fans are all UV reactive, so I figured it would be best to stick a 12 in. UV cold cathode in my case. I was wondering what color the UV cathode is? in pictures ive seen it looks purple but in some others it looks blue...I really dont want a purple lit case so if the UV cathode has to be purple id just resort to a regular blue cold cathode light. How would my UV reactive parts look under a regular blue light???

The ones that are clearer and cast a more purple light seem to be the most reactive.

You can see in my UV PC article that we experimented using two of them a 4 inch and a 12inch and we found that if we had it to do over again we would have used two 12 inch UV lights.

These just don't put out much light and depending on how relective your parts are your results will vary so more light surface and lights are always better.
