I plan to buy a Belkin universal UPS 1200va.
It has a 670 watts battery load capacity.
My question is can i power up these 2 identical P4 systems?

P4 3.2
radeon 9800
19 inch screen

It says up to 100 minutes backup time,is the 100 minutes calculated at full load capacity?

If i go over the 670 watts will it only lower the 100 minutes limit or will it simply shut down?

im pretty sure if you go over the load capability it wont power it on battery. i had my two monitors plugged into my ups, everything was fine exept when i plugged a fan into the thing, when i switched it on and off the ups overload alarm would go off.

What do you think is better?

1- One big UPS for 2 computers.
2- Two smaller ones, 1 for each.

At idle or doing light work, probably. At full load, no.

I have a p4c 2.4GHz with gf4 and 21" and it draws about 250w-260w at idle and over 350 loaded. I really expect you'd exceed 670w with both boxes working on something stressfull at the same time.

You'd have to check Belkin's site or your manual for that info but the 100 minutes is probably a rating at a fraction of full capacity. I have an APC RS1500 (1500VA, 850W) on my P4 and it'll only provide about 28-30 minutes backup with a 250W or so draw and it's rated to supply only about 3 miniutes if fully loaded up (850W). Though the battery capacity on your Belkin might be greater I kind of doubt it.

Oh, and if you exceed the UPS' rating I expect it'll beep at you anoyingly to let you know you've exceeded it's load as mentioned above. If you exceed it's rating and the power fails... Expect a crash. ;)
