Recently I was quarantined by my dorms ISP for apparently having a virus, but
upon going through all of their tedious little steps to find the problem i
came up empty handed. Of those steps, I was to put my computer into safe
mode and scan for viruses. However now that I am back on the internet and
running, I can't seem to change my theme back to the XP style. I can change
my theme to classic fine, but when I try to do XP, it locks up at the 'please
wait' thing. Then when Windows loads next, it has the windows XP default
wallpaper, but all the taskbars and folders are classic style. I was
wondering if anyone had any clue what was going on?

I already looked through as many of the questions and found similar problems
but no solution that has helped me. Any help would be much appreciated,
thanks

I got thru this same problem the other day by setting everything in the
display porperties dialog box to the most basic (default) settings, like no
screen saver, turn off effects, and make sure font size is set to normal.
I'll bet font size is the culprit. Then try setting the theme. If that
works, you can go back and reset the other stuff to what ever you like.

Let us know,

Rip
