FYI-

I went to my local Verizon Wireless store (Beaverton, OR) this evening and
got them to update my phone to the T61VZV02 software rev. I just confirmed
that this has fixed the volume bug on incoming call (not a huge issue, but
just danged annoying!).

I have not had a chance to see if it fixed the
reboot-on-charger-connection-when-low-battery bug..

Nothing negative about the update to report, but it literally has just been
a couple hours. One thing to note is that it took literally 45 minutes to
complete! I think this is because I had 27 pictures in my gallery and it
transfers those. I should have deleted them before I did the update so I
did not have to twiddle my thumbs for 45 minutes.

One other note- While waiting for so long I was chatting with the tech and
she said they had been experiencing some kind of battery/charging issues on
certain 6100's (not all, just some defective ones).

I also noticed my ERI rev is now 3 and they updated my PRL to 50233. If I
am not mistaken, the ERI can only be updated via cable and not OTA...

The following copy is from a reply I made to a related subject on this
newsgroup. Please don't flame me for double posting, I'm trying to let my
other VX6100 owners know that this is a S/W update worth the 45 minutes it
takes to install. I was about to re-activate my Motorola 120E before this
update came along. Now, I have nothing but good things to say about the LG
VX6100.

Before accepting a VX6100, open the menu by pressing the upper left button
and press 9-9-2. If you see "S/W ver. T61VZV01" close the phone and hand it
back to the sales person and request that S/W ver. T61VZV02 be installed.
It takes about 45 minutes to perform the upgrade. You may encounter some
reluctance and some have been told there is no such software update
available. I
assure you, T61VZV02 exists and Verizon can install it.

I get to drive 75 miles to find a Verizon store. The local Verizon
agent said "What's firmware?".

My local store checked a chart taped on the wall and saw v01 as the only
one available.

I'm curious as to the complete specifics of what v02 updates/added/changes
on my phone compared to v01. Is there a publicly available definitive
answer? If not, I'll settle for what is posted here.

Thanks.

Scott

The paper on the wall is out of date. That is why paper is a stupid medium
for things such as this that change all the time.

I know that sometimes Verizon sends out internal memo's to their techs in
email about what firmware versions have fixed but there is nothing publicly
available that I am aware of.

Basically we know it fixes the volume bug... The power down when low
battery bug has not been proven to be fixed or not fixed...
