im a newbie at this and i was wondering if atx, microatx, ps/2, baby atx is different just in physical size of the case or if the connectors were different for each one. i want to get the right one and if the connectors are all the same for all of them it really doesnt matter if its too big or small for this case.
ATX is a motherboard form factor (up to 7 slots available). MicroATX is similar, except with the last 3 PCI slots removed. The smaller board fits into larger cases but not vice versa. Flex ATX has 2 fewer slots than Micro ATX, same story. SFF uses Flex ATX. There is no such thing as Baby ATX, there was a Baby AT but that's gone now. PS/2 is a form factor for full sized AT and ATX power supplies. SFX is a smaller ATX version. PS/2 is also the name for the connector used on modern serial mice and keyboards.
It matters if the board is too big for the case. It doesn't matter if the case is larger than the board.
