Desktop.dll Problem

Running XP and when I try to login using my account I get error message about
problem with desktop.dll and that Windows will send error report. When I
finish with that dialog box, nothing else happens...no taskbar, no start
menu, no desktop icons. Task Manager shows no tasks, nothing unusual about
processes and performance shows nothing dinging the CPU unusually.

I booted the computer in Safe Mode and logged in as Administrator. Logged
out and, again in Safe Mode, logged in using my profile and got error
messages again.

Any suggestions as to how to repair my profile?

desktop.dll is not an XP file. Update your antivirus software and run a
full system scan.
