Icon stumper

My girlfriend came to me with a question about icons and I am completely stumped. Her Dell is running windows XP Home, and all of the icons only display 3 or 4 letters in the icon names. The rest is truncated or cut off with three periods (...) Is there a way to change how much of the icon name is dsplayed?

Control Panel - Display - Appearence - Advanced Button;

Font size might be changed, or spacing, etc. There are 3 Icon options in there, which is probably where the problem exists.

You can also try restoring View options in Folder Options, which might fix it as well.
