im getting Aspire X-Dreamer II that has a 350w power supply and am wondering if thats enough power to support my pc which has some good components

oh, it has good components? man, your gonna need at least a 600 watt psu for good components. 350 is only enough for crappy components.

oh, dont you listen to these guys, ahpanther. :) you can go <A HREF="http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/" target="_new">here</A> to calculate how much power your system will use. if i were you i would add 30 to 50 watts to your power result for the above site just to be safe. quality of components has nothing to do with power consumption, however, you do want to invest in a robust, stable power supply.

that guidline is a little bit too generous for power recomendations. but it is closer than most i have seen. also if i add just two hard drives and another stick of ram it takes me over my power supply limit. i have had 6 additional 10k rpm drives on that thing and it didnt even falter.

incidently, what brand psu do you recommend? ive been thinking about replacing mine...its *really* loud.
