400W is usually enough for most people, as long as you use a quality power supply 400W should be enough.

You PSU is good enough for your system.

You have a great power supply, it's enough for the parts you have, and then some.

Also if you hear your fan noise going up and down, assuming you dont have auto regulators, then you need a better and/or bigger PSU.

Not all PS are created equal. Zalman makes a good product and gets good reviews. So yours should be adequate. It's the one component I see skimped on the most. Why? It's rhetorical question.. it's the one thing that makes everything work, but go figure when people are looking to save a few bucks. I've seen multi disk scsi vaults with 10+ hard drives running way less than 400W, but I guarantee the PS in those units (yes sometimes redundant) are high quality. Go for quality around 400W and it'll run the majority of systems out there. I've run plenty of 3 to 4 hard drive systems and fast XP systems with Antec 350s. I'm not saying it's not pushing it, but it goes to show what the quality of PS can do.

Its been my experience that the fans are the first to show low power, but its hard to tell cause theyll seem quieter. Basically youll know if uve run outta power if your harddrives lose power at startup (when they usually spinup simultaneously). Thats when ur PC uses most power, aside from doing something like video conversion on a raid setup with 4 drives or something else insane. Anyway, u should b e fine for awhile as long as they dont all run simultaneously
