Please read, Low fps on good system???

my specs are:

i5 2500k @ 4.2GHz (can't go higher than 4.5, doesnt let me???)
ati 6950 2gb ddr5
12gb ddr3 1600
500gb wd sata3 7200rpm 32mb cache
msi mobo
corsair h60 cpu water cooler
600w psu.

built for gaming, but mostly on fsx...

im getting low frame rates with settings just above medium, not even full! im getting about 10-30fps but mostly about 20fps
this seems low, so should i upgrade cpu to i7 2600k or get gtx 570, bearing in mind fsx is very cpu dependant. i havent OC'd my gfx card also. any suggestions. i have seen vids on utube with specs not as good or the same as mine and they look smoother. i only have 2 addons, rex 2.0 and iris c27j. i'm not up 4 tweaking really either. or should i just flash my 6950 to a 6970 and crossfire it even though fsx isnt really that compatible with crossfire :/..... all in all wat should i do- flash bios 2 6970 and buy another 6950 then do same..... buy i7 2600k...... buy gtx 570..... feel free to make any other suggestions. im running win 7 ultimate 64bit, thanks 1 more thing i have done numerous virus and malware scans and my systems clear.

i have the accel pack i didnt install it though, i have sp1 and sp2. what is the update patch for thread optimisation

No need for SLI or crossfire. FSX can'r use them. CPU is a good one. If acceleration pack or the patch is installed, then I don't know why it is giving you low fps.

some plains have been limited to 20fps. also if you have expansions some of them have the fps limit 2. there are some mods that lift the limit but some 1 else will have to link em.
