Skyrim stuck on Steam launcher after update!

Hey all,

After not playing Skyrim on my PC for a few days I thought I would have a go.

So I loaded up steam as usual and attempted to execute the game. It appeared to download some kind of update, everything looked fine so far, but now I am stuck on the "Preparing to Launch The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim" window!

I have not a clue as to why this is happening. Could it be that Steam is down at the moment?

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Try this

Right click the Skyrim in the steam library - > Properties - > Local files - > Verify files

"All files successfully validated"...no change yet

download this and just run skyrim via the mod manager and skip steam

also check out skyrim nexus for mods

In the meantime I installed a mod from Nexus called TESVAL and it lets me run Skyrim using the skse_loader.exe but its in a window, not full screen for some reason...

It seems to be working through Steam now guys, thanks for your help!
