hi,

my system is running quite hot atm and i am slightly worried. today is quite a hot day and i have a palamino however right now just running winamp and internet explorer my temps are 60-cpu and 38-case. i have a superlanboy which has fairly crap airflow and the air filters dont help however the main culprit in putting my temps up i think is my tagan 480w. i read some reviews and they all said this psu had really good build quality however it is running hotter than my generic 300w psu. surely this cant be right or do tagans just run really hot?

thanks

matt

hi,

i really need sum ideas becuase it has got even worse :(
atm my cpu is idleing at 63 degress C and my case 39. in the evenings those temps seem to rise a couple of degrees. even though i have a palamino and super lanboy i do not know why i am getting so high temperatures. i have a coolermaster aero 7, 120mm fan front intake, 120mm back exhaust, 80mm side fan and an artic cooling vga silencer. the part which i notice is really hot is my tagan 480w psu. the casing is roughly as hot as my cpu heatsink!
is there a way of cooling down the psu?
also do you know of anyways to help bring down temperatures? or if it is safe to run at these high temperatures?

thanks

matt

palamino's run hot, my T'birdgot up to about 90c once which was when I decided to take off the HSF clean them off and use some better thermal paste. I suggest you do the same.

How many fans do you have in your case?
Perhaps you should get some more, or get a better heat sink.

hi,

the reason why im so pissed off , is that ive got 2 120mm fans one 80mm fan and the coolermaster aero 7 so its not as though im lacking in cooling power.

i could reset the heatsink but the heatsink seems to be conducting heat well as it is warm to touch.

the only thing i can think it that the superlanboy has crap airflow and the heat is just getting trapped inside.

thanks

Matt you could cut out all of your fan grills, that would pretty much double the airflow on each of your 120mm's. The only problem is that after that you'll be able to put your finger in the fan, but as long as its not spinning too fast it shouldn't be a problem.

how do you have your fans oriented? im somewhat expecting you to tell me their all pushing air in/out. you need ballance with your fans, just like the force.

hi,

a) i have already cut out the front mesh but i have fitted air filters to my fans to keep dust and cat hairs out. Is it worth removing these in the summer?
b) im not a retard jihiggs i dont have them all blowing in/out. my front 120mm is sucking in air, side 80mm sucking in air and my rear 120mm is blowing air out.

thanks
