I currently have an Antec 430 TruePower PSU. I've isolated the loud annoying whinning sound to the PSU (I've disconnect every other case fan, and on low usage the CPU fan stops and I've still heard the noise.) It's not the loudness but the high pitch that annoys me more than anything else.

Is there a better PSU I can buy thats significantly more silent, or anything else I can do to drop the noise level from the PSU. I have a large amount of components in my system and I think I need a high wattage PSU, so I don't know if a quiet 350W PSU is enough. Here is what's in my system:

Athlon 64 3400
Asus K8V Deluxe
Cooler Master Praetorian
Mushkin Level I PC3500 2x512mb
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ST3160023AS 160GB
Western Digital 120GB 7200RPM 8MB cache
ASUS Radeon 9600 XT/TVD 128M 8X
SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Retail
Pioneer 16X DVD-120s
I will also buy a dvd burner in the near future, and possibly upgrade my video card in a year.

Zalman makes one, Thermaltake makes a silent purepower, Fortron Source has a fan controller on theirs to make it quiter, I think Antec makes one called "noisetaker" that's supposed to be quiet. Look those up, make a choice, buy one.

Antec TruePower are very nice PSU. You can just replace the fan in the PSU.
