Recently I woke up to find that my computer had shut itself off overnight. Some quick testing indicated it was probably a dead PSU. Went out and bought an Enermax 350W PSU, only to have the system immediately behave in the exact same way once the new PSU was installed (i.e. - not turning on at all, or turning on just long enough to spin up the fans, then shut off.) Testing the new Enermax PSU reveals that it is dead, as well. Is it possible that something within the computer system is cooking my PSUs? Or was it just really bad luck that after one PSU died, the next one was dead straight from the box, keeping in mind there were no puffs of blue smoke or the like?

Definitely not an insufficient-power issue - exact system ran fine like this for about 2.5 years on an Enermax 350W (which then died), was replaced by a "FSP" 350W, which died 6 months later, to be replaced by another Enermax 350W, which was dead as soon as it touched the system (if not sooner).
