When I reboot my computer, I am getting the following message:
"Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by
unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must restore the
original versions of these files.
Insert your Windows XP Home Edition CD-ROM now."
When I insert the cd, I am told that it's an older version than what's
already on my pc so it won't work. I've also run both McAfee virus scans and
Spyware Doctor scans and have removed all files that came up infected.

Try the System File Checker: "Description of Windows XP and Windows
Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe)"
