I have a VB6 app that is fetching an ADO disconnected recordset
from MS SQL Server, then does a bit of processing on it and displays
it in a grid. On my machine (850MHz Pentium III, 512 MB RAM, XPSP2), it
only takes a second or so to do this. On another machine (2.8GHz
Pentium 4, 512MB RAM, XPSP2), it takes about 90 seconds and the hard
drive is active all that time. I ran the performance monitor utility
and see that it's taking about 3400 Page Faults/sec, 639 Page
Reads/sec, and 3400 Cache Faults/sec. From some info I found in
the Win2K resource kit, I get the impression that this means it's
running low on memory. However, Available Bytes shows 170 MB
available. Total Commit Charge on the system is only 350 MB or so.

Anyone know what could cause a situation like this?
