problem with ringer in LG VX 3200

I have an LG VX 3200, which worked fine until last week. All of a
sudden, the phone rings comes out of the small ear speaker in the phone
(making it impossible to hear) instead of the loud speaker on the back.
WHen I switch to speaker mode, the same thing happens. The only thing
that still sounds loud is the key tones, which seem to be ok and loud.
To "hear" somebody call me I have to be on vibrate mode.

Did anybody come across this problem? I was wondering if this is a
settings problem (I tried playing around with everything), or if this
is a hardware problem.

Please let me know,

Thanks.

I had the same thing happen to my LG VX-3200. I lost the external
speaker when I let the battery go completely dead. Somehow this
caused "dain bramage" to the phone.

I re-flashed the ROM by dialing *228 and chose option 1. That fixed
mine. If it doesn't work in your case, then a visit to the Verizon
store is in order.

HTH.

FWIW, *228 doesn't re-flash the ROM, it only programs your NAM, CDMA values,
etc.

ROM re-flashes must be done with special software and cables.
