I just bought a new computer and I curious if ti will run skyrim, and if so, what graphics setting (with a descent frame rate of course)

I have:
2nd generation intel core i7-2670 2.20 GHz (3.10 GHz with turbo boost)

Nvidia GeForce GT 540 MB 2GB graphics with optimus

8GB shared dual channel ram

not looking for ultra setting or anything, looking more for medium or high

any help would be much appreciated
Thanks!

Hi :)

As its a laptop you wont be playing anything at Ultra setting with that card....maybe medium....

All the best Brett :)

Yeah, probably Medium to High settings with lowered resolution.

the 540 my just about matches the old 88gt so you will be running minimum on new games (bf3,deus ex HR) and medium on older 1s (fear 3)

I'm not sure if the GT540m comes near an 8800GT.
It more or less competes with a 9600GT or a HD 4670.

it lies between the 96gt and 88gt.. still pretty decent for a laptop.
