Hi,

I got this small, old but fine maschine.
In the default configuratoin it works fine, but when I insert a PCI-card in
the extension-slot I get a system crash.
Now I would like to try a BIOS-Update, but I could not find my system on the
compaq/hp website
So how could I get the right ROMPaq ?

I have only these infos about the system:

Compaq Deskpro (on the front side)
Series PD1010 (on a lable on the bottom)

the BIOS says:

COMPAQ Deskpro EN Series SFF
8026DLBH2069

hoping someone could help me

Carsten

8026DLBH2069 is the Deskpro's serial number. There used to be a page on the
Compaq site where you could enter that and it would tell you what model you
had. Pls read the Compaq FAQ, reposted to this NG every Saturday, in regards
to BIOS updates.

I had read the FAQ Thanks ;-) but there is no topic like "identify a modell
by serialnumber" respectively a topic of that style
on the compaq/hp website (or am I to foolish to find it?).
I remeber, that in the past - before hp took compaq - there had been such a
link on the website.......
Two or three years ago a compaq technician, which worked at my company
told/shown me, that some mainboards have an lable which indicates a
SoftPaq-Code, but unfortunately my one not.

still needing help - Carsten
