For some months, my computer has been running games well for a time, but it tends to slow down after a few minutes, sometimes slowing down to a crawl. I have been tryinf to play TF2, but after 2 minutes the computer turns laggy and the sound begins to mess up.
Can anyone help me?

Could possibly be an overheating problem if you see significant decreases in performance. It also could be that your hardware is being overworked. I think this is pretty common. I play TF2 and I see some performance drops after played for half an hour or so.

i'll go with leongrado ... it is most probably an overheating problem
Check your gpu temp using msi afterburner :

http://downloads.guru3d.com/-MSI-Afterburner-2.2.0-Beta-9-download-2816.html

If the temp rises a lot , then it is an overheating problem.

Check your cpu for blocked fans ... if u can do it yourself .. do it .. otherwise get your processor and gpu fans checked ...

It also could be that your cpu needs an extra fan for the amount of heat it generates. In that case you'll have to buy a new aftermarket fan ..

Well, these are the specs:

Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (Build 2600)
3062 MB RAM
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS | NetMeeting driver | RDPDD Chained DD

I have already checked the fans and cleaned the cpu in case it was just dust, but it didn't work....
If anymore information is needed, please tell me.
