I would like to add a case fan to blow on my cpu but i don't won't all the air being blown in form the fan being sucked right back by the outake fan on the back. I decided to put like a funnel from the case fan so the air being blown in goes straight to the cpu. Does this idea sound good? If that doesn't work maybe i can move the case fan over to the right so more air will get to the cpu fan before it sucked back out.

Actually the funnel is a pretty good ideal.

The link above, is a case I use generally when building computers for people, in the additional pictures you will notice it has a funnel built into the side panel, it doesn't have a fan, but it helps ensure the CPU fan sucks air from outside the case. I have found this case's cooling seems to work very well.

My new case:

My case doesn't use any funnel, and with smoke the air flow does seems a little chaotic, and some of the air does get sucked out by the three exhaust fans, however some of the air does make it to the CPU. I just finished lapping my heatsink (finally finished it, couldn't find 2000 grit before), anyways my PC is coming up on 2 hours with the CPU at 100% load, and the temp is only 2° above idle temps. I'd say the setup seems to work very well.

There aere so many different ways to cool a computer that it boggles the mind. I had an old gateway (P3 450) that has a funnel attached to the psu that pulls air over a passive heat sink on the cpu. It had no other fans at all till I added a lower front intake fan. It is still running strong for the guy I sold it to.
My main computer at the moment has an Athlon XP 1800+ that runs pretty warm compared to the Athlon 500mhz in my #2. Just for grins I added a blowhole fan on top (drilling was the hardest part since I wasn't sure it would work and I wasn't crazy about maybe ruining my case). Well, case temp went down by 2 degrees C, so did cpu temp. Then I moved the blowhole fan outside the case so that it is pulling air and not pushing... temps went down by an additional 4 degrees. This case is kind of old and had only an intake fan prior to adding the blowhole (no place on back for exhaust fan) and the case temp was about 36 C with the cpu running at about 58 C (all temps are full load). Since max temp on the 1800+ is 85 C I wasn't all that worried anyway still, cooler is always better. Right now I've got 30 C case temp and 51 C cpu temp with only two case fans (80mm) and a dual fan psu. I've been thinking about adding a funnel system like the one you are asking about. Only thing is, you really do want a bit of negative presure in the case (more air out than in). All the systems that I have seen with positive pressure have all run hotter until this condition was reversed. So, I am now thinking about a 120mm for the blowhole to counter the 80mm I would put on the funnel system. Also, if you get your funnel close enough to the cpu fan the negative presure would actually draw more air over the cpu rather than decreasing it. I'm looking at a 2 part funnel with one end actually attached to the cpu fan.
Good luck and have fun! I know I am.
