Skyrim resolution issue.
Ok so I never ever had problems with my PC until now,I got a Q6600,9800GTX and 4 gigs of ram on Vista 32,I have an LG 42" LCD 42LD450 TV that I hooked to my PC with an 15 pin RGB cable so here is the problem,as you can see from this screenshot something is rly weird with the setup,I'm not a computer wizard but also not a caveman. This however murders my logic, here it is http://i836.photobuc.../Untitled-1.jpg I had to fabricate/customize the 1920x1080 resolution in the nvidia control panel so that it could used in the Vista display setting HOWEVER after a restart Vista totally forgets about this small change and decides to go to a god knows why weird "default?!?!" resolution 1600x1024 and I have to go back in the nvidia control panel and change it from there back to 1920x1080 now this is irritating but not as much as my question,WHY the 1920x1080 resolution doesn't show up in the Skyrim launcher,it show up only when i select Window Mode,WHAT?RLY? And It works in window mode I get that window line from the game on top and from time to time the game stops working,ALSO if you notice in my screenshot at the Display Setting "Generic Non-PnP Monitor on etc...this somehow seems alien to me,I don't know what to do please someone help me out here.
I'm having nearly the exact same issue as the OP, expect that once I forced windows NVIDIA control panel to run windows at 1920x1080 it sticks between boots, working fine.
But I have the same issue of not being able to run Skyrim at fullscreen WITHOUT windowed mode running at 1920x1080. The option disappears when I uncheck the windowed mode.
I want to play skyrim fullscreen at 1920x1080.
I have a GTX560ti and connected to a Samsung 32" LCD TV via DVI to VGA connector.
Somebody must know a fix for this??
Yes, I have it set as primary. I am wondering if picking up a DVI to HDMI cable will help. I ran some tests and discovered that when using a straight HDMI cable, my PC would recognize the Samsung TV as a samsung, but when I use my current DVI to VGA it sees it as a non PNP monitor, and does not enable higher rezes that the TV supports (though I can force it to run 1920x1080 via NVIDIA control panel - games still won't run though)
Guess I'll find out in a few days when my new cable comes in the mail
