I have not seen any recent reviews of Mini-PCs. I looking for some ideas for an office PC. I am more interested in a quick office machine than i am a gaming machine, and it has to be inexpensive.

Thanks

Cases like <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-190-003&depa=0" target="_new">This One</A> and <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-164-010&depa=0" target="_new">This One</A> serveral advantages: First, standing up they take less space from the desk because they're so narrow. Laying down they fit nicely under a monitor. But most also offer better ventilation, and all offer a better selection of boards AND increased room for upgrades. I'd go with one of these, and a decent Micro ATX nForce2 board with an XP2800+.

But you didn't ask about these. Why? Because you let other people do your thinking for you. You let them tell you what's "cool". Proving you don't have a thought in your head. To the point, nearly anyone who buys or promotes SFF is stupid.

So I see how you get so many posts. I was just asking for suggetions, not a flame post. I can pick out my own MB/proc, I just wanted other's opinions on small cases (I should not have said mini). I was not aware of the different form factors for small cases, and that is why I asked for suggestions.

So for anyone who has built a <i> small form factor </i> pc, could you suggest a case/barebones unit without the derogatory remarks?

Please excuse the tyrade, I'm just a bit upset with a couple Tom's staff members (and some other sites writers) for promoting the cubes when they know the limitations. One of Tom's former chief editors actually did a presentation for the white box builders telling them to produce boxes with as small an upgrade path as possible, so that when their customers needed more, they could sell them an entire system. The entire mindset here is to promote sales, rather than protect the consumer, because the industry has been stuggling to recover lost growth.

BTW, I've built a lot of small PC's in the Micro ATX form factor, but use whatever board is availble at the time. However, I have kept track of several purchases in here, which have shown that <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-138-234&depa=0" target="_new">This Board</A>, <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-130-477&depa=0" target="_new">This Board</A>, and <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-131-483&depa=0" target="_new">This Board</A> are all good choices.

I stand by my case style recommendations, there are several others this size to choose from, I just picked two that appealed to me from the design and price aspects.
