My 'free every 2' is up January 27. I currently have an LG VX 10 with the
Mobile Office Kit and connecting with MOK is very important to me when I'm
on travelling. My current plan is Am. Choice - 400 minutes.

I'm looking for recommendations for a new phone/plan, hopefully one that can
use the same data cable I already have. My present dissatisfaction with the
LG VX 10 is low volume on ringer (which cannot be changed) and
unsatisfactory talk/standby time on battery. Also, when battery is low, get
no warning - just shuts off.

I've got a VX10 too and you're right, the ringer volume is too low. But the
other problems are just a tired, worn out battery. If you end up keeping the
phone, a new battery will have you back up to snuff.

I recommend the LG VX-4600 if you can find one. I purchased a VX-4600
in November, 2004 as a replacement for my VX-4400. I am very pleased
with the VX-4600 beacause of it's high volume for audio and ringers,
small size, signal strength, sturdy construction, high resolution
screen, repectable battery performance, intuitive menus, and smart
style. I had to purchase a new data cable (the VX-4400 cable won't
work with it) so that I could access the Internet when traveling. The
only negative is that it's digital only with no analog band but that is
not a problem for me because I have not used analog in three years.
