explorer.exe taking up 98% or cpu...?

hi ive noticed that explordr.exe it taking up enormous amounts of cpu
even when nothing else is really going on.. does anyone have an idea
what could be causing it? thanks

the percentages are decieving...

98% just means of the amount of CPU power taken, 98% is being used by
explorer.exe

in other words, 2% of your total CPU power is being used, and 98% of that
CPU power is used by explorer.exe

when your computer just finished booting up, and you have nothing running,
the System idle process uses 98% of the CPU power being used. but if you look
in Task manager only 1 or 2 % of your full processor power is being used.
