Here are the playable games I have tested on AMD A8-3850 using HD 6550D with DDR3 1866 CL9

HD 6550D was derived from HD 5570 which was released in February 2010

If you are using DDR3 1600 CL9, you might have to lower some graphic settings. You can also increase performance of HD 6550D thru overclocking if you are using an A8-3870K

In Battlefield 3, frame rate is 30 to 35 fps on most parts. In parts where there are smoke and explosions, 25 to 32 fps

In other games, frame rate is usually 35+ fps

The only game I tested which I deem unplayable is Witcher 2. In open areas, frame rate is ~25 fps even if I use the lowest graphic settings


I running HD 6550D on stock speed. I'm pretty sure A8-3870K users will get higher frame rates if they will overclock HD 6550D

Most review sites who reviewed A8-3850 and A8-3870K used only a few games. Also, when newer games are benchmarked, the Llano IGP is not included

Some of them even tested the Llano on high resolutions like 1680 x 1050 and 1920 x 1080. I just find it wrong. The Llano IGP was not meant for that

Have a question! How can i OC the HD 6650? There's an option on BIOS setup? i have the A8 3870k in dual graphics with radeon hd 6670 ddr3; i've tought it'll be enough to run battlefield bad company 2 without any troubles.. But i have to set in medium graphics instead.. If there's a way to OC the GPU or get a better perfomance please rep! Thx!

Yes, you overclock the Llano IGP in the BIOS. Just look for the option containing "IGP" or any similar name.

HD 6550D has a stock speed of 600 MHz. Most review sites were able to reach 800 MHz without adding IGP voltage.
