Old pc game

Hello, im trying to find a old turn based pc game. i think its from the mid 90's. you start out with one town and you have to build farms and mines etc. to build your army. i do remember that the map is broken down into provinces. not much to go on but im drawing a blank. thanks

thanks for the replies but not it. i remember when you attack the enemy you can have villagers with pitch forks, pike man, knights, and catapults. its a turn based game. thanks again
