Solution
yes but if your thinking of gaming on dual screens your wasting your time. the center point will be between both screens... if you want to multiscreen game you need a minimum of 3 screens.
yep... there are a couple of games that will allow you to use 2 screens, where 1 is your main play area and the other is used for menu's but like i say most games will require 3 screens or your target will always be at the screen boundary...

also if you were thinking the 7970 will allow multiscreen gaming at max rez then forget about it. there isnt a single gpu card out at the moment that doesnt take a huge hit at 2500/1600 never mind 5740/1080... its not so much the gpu's fault as the memory, the bigger the screen the more memory it takes but the more memory you have the faster it needs to be, but the faster the memory the higher the latency and its these latencies that limit the overall gfx performance on bigger screens. the xdr2 memory that is supposed to be coming on the new ati cards should help reduce this latency problem but it wont cure it.. you will always have to make a sacrifice somewhere on image quality.
