A family member brought hes PC round he just moved he siad it doeasent switch on after moving house, so i had a quick look and yes it dident switch on LOL, but what i did notice was that there is a green led on the psu and every time i inserted the PSU plug it would come on then switch off, what he did say he lost the originall kettle plug as it was part of the moniter plug, and he had broke the original HP moniter as he droped it while moving and then through away.
Could this be why the PSU doesent work anymore?
Or has hes PSU broke?

The computer end of the power cable is pretty universal so any cable should do. If the psu has a little red switch marked 115 and 220 make sure it is switched to the apropriate voltage for your location. Though if you had it switched to 115 and you plugged it into a 220 outlet in europe you would get a nice fireworks show :)
Make sure the connection to the motherboard is all secure, somethin may have been knocked loose.
If it isn't either of those it is probably new power supply time. Make sure a regular psu will work in it before buying one. Manufacturers like to make everything they can proprietary :)

If you have another power supply laying around I'd try it on the system before putting forth effort towards finding a replacement. I know it won't fit in the case but you could at least see if the system turns on. Give the whole system a once over to make sure nothing is loose and/or shorting.
I'm in the US so I really don't have a clue what online retailers are good/avaliable in the UK. That thing still under warranty?
