front port cable extension

Anyone seen front headphone/mic or front firewire extension cables? A cable that extends the little internal plugs for connecting front ports to the motherboard pins. The front headphone/mic and firewire port cables on my case are about an inch short of reaching my sound card
I think I probably just need to get off my lazy butt and head to radioshack to rig something but if such a thing already exists I'll just buy one
If I do go for the rig aproach think there would be any downfall to splicing a couple inches of wire onto each lead? I don't really see how a couple more inches could hurt anything.

I saw some that looked promising at first on the FrontX site but for the connection to work on my sound card I need to have individual connectors for each wire, not a single block.
I've also seen the "Lian Li Front Port Cable Extension for V series Cases". That is actually what came in my case.
