I activated fax on my system and reassigned some cables but now internet is
working very very slow and I get kicked off also.

I plugged my phone directly into the phone jack on computer and DSL filter
is now hooked up to computer also. I was told to do this when sending a fax
wouldn't work. Now fax works but new problems. Please help. Thanks.

What do you mean by "reassigned some cables"? You're going have to give a
more detailed explanation.

"I plugged my phone directly into the phone jack on computer and DSL filter

wouldn't work." Who told you and what wouldn't work? "Now fax works but new
problems."

It sounds like the DSL filter might be hooked up backwards. I believe that
the filter only works in one direction. Unplug the phone lines and start
over. You need to plug a phone line into the wall jack. Then connect the
filter to the other end. Next plug the filter into the back of the PC in the
phone line jack (not the one showing a little phone). The last thing is to
plug the phone into the back of the PC in the phone jack. Once everything is
connected, pick up the phone to see if there is a dial tone. If so, try
sending a fax.

Just remember, the filter must come before the first thing that is plugged
in otherwise you will have a bad connection.

Phone Line>>>>>>>>>>>>>DSL Filter>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>PC In>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>PC
Out>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Phone

That's just like my opinion, Man........
