Dvd drive not detected

Keep in mind that you're troubleshooting a device that costs $20 to replace. Personally, I would unplug the connectors and re-plug them. I've seen that work. I would try different cables and different MB ports. If none of that works I would replace the drive.

I have the same problem with a hard drive. If you find it in the BIOS and also under advanced drive settings, why doesn't it locate the drive?
