Hello,

I'm looking to play my ps3 on my 24" AOC 2436Vwa Full HD monitor which is non-HDCP so I've heard I can't use a HDMI to DVI-D cable.

So instead would I be able to use this cable: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HD-Component-RGB-AV-Cable-Sony-PlayStation-PS2-PS3-/250905512529?pt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN&hash=item3a6b224a51 and connect it to this component to VGA adapter: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HD-Pro-Box-YPbPr-VGA-Audio-Video-Converter-Adapter-1080P-PS3-PS2-Wii-GA56-/180793610733?pt=UK_Chargers_Docks&hash=item2a182391ed which i can then connect to my Monitor?

Would this work and would it display 1080p HD?
I would really appreciate some help, thanks.

if you want high quality you cannot use VGA, probabily will not be able to play 1080p...

"so I've heard I can't use a HDMI to DVI-D cable." never heard of that, you should at least try using DVI cable or you will experience low resolution/signal interferences/low color quality...

HDMI to DVI-D works fine. Trust me, I'm running my PS3 like that. I use the HDMI cable into a DVI-D converter for the video, and then I use the standard AV cable's audio RCA's directly into my amplifier for the audio. Just switch audio output to AV and it's working perfectly.
