I got a pop-up from my Adaware program telling me that something was trying
to modify my registry. I hit block, but the computer froze up and I had to
reboot. After rebooting, my .exe programs will no longer work. My files are
ok, but the only programs that will work for me are IE and Outlook. I cannot
even use recovery or control panel tools. I ran the check on Microsoft and
it found no malicious software. Can this be fixed?

Hi jrm19917,

I had to do some searching for it, but I was successful in finding the
thread where I made recommendations to someone who was experiencing what
sounds like a very similar problem to the one that you're experiencing:
http://groups-beta.google.com/grou [...] f08c403910

If you give my recommendations a try, please let me know whether they were
successful in helping you solve the problem.

Regards,
