Simple case mod question.

I broke my power and reset switches. They kept comming lose so I superglued then covering an unnoticed air vent and now I have to grab them with tweezer to get them to pop backup.

Right now I am using bare wires to start/reset.

I haven't been able to find switches that would fit.

I am considering cutting holes in my front bezel and adding two military style switches.

1) Assuming that I dremel a suitable hole for these switches what would I use to hold them in place. Is there some kind of plastic putty I could mold arround them that will be strong enough when it hardens?

2) These don't look like they are momentary switches? If they are not will I have to flip them back and fourth real quick everytime I use them? How hard will it be to wire a simple curicuit to make them momentary switches?

I might also thinking of buying switches that don't quite fit the plastic panel that hold them. I have an aluminum and a acrylic cover for the from of my case and the buttons have to fit perfectly or they will stick.

Again is there some flexible putty that I can use to position these switches perfectly and then would hardend sufficiently to hold them in place after repeated use?

I am pretty much clueless when it comes to moding practices. The most I did was help cut the clip of a Zalman 7000 AlCU to fit an NF7-S 2.0 MB.

I forgot, can't you use the keyboard for booting up? Should be a BIOS options, that way you don't have to use the switches. Your only problem would be resetting or powering down the hard way.

That switch is on the page I linked to, only several dollars cheaper (and only avaliable in green).

Actually I dug through my junk heep of old PC's I keep for parts and found a couple of Pentiun 133mhz that use the same switches.

I still haven't found an a perfect way of holding them in. Best bet so far is to wind 22 gauge steel wire around them very tight and hold them in place via friction.

I am still considering a "Vandal" light, with a military toggle switch beneath it for the reset button.
