I've just taken delivery of my new Asus P5AD2-e Premium board and 3.6 775 P4 but, after some thought decided to get the Zalman Cnps7700 cooler at a whacking great 120mm. Stupidly, I sold my Antec plusview 1000 that had more than enough room to accomodate this cooler but, didn't want to get another one because I simply feel like having a change. Any thoughts on what would be the best case? Looked at the CM Stacker and it seems WAY too big and I'm not really a fan of Lian Li. If I'm just being a picky ah heck, just say so ;)

Cheers

Lian-Li is probably the best case manufacturer out there right now. Their only real downfall is their cases are so damned expensive! lol.
The new series of cases from lian-li are extremely nice if you have a big enough wallet for em. The PC-V1000, V1100, V2000, V2100, V1200 (add a B for black version).

I agree that the Lian Li is the best case. The design is really different from other case. It is very quiet with the 2 120cm case fan. The craftsmanship is top notch. The only problem is I can not afford one. Maybe I can, but the price to me is not justify.

It cost 200.00 for the case alone. With 200.00 dollars, I could buy a decent CPU and motherboard.

I just picked up the Antec P-160WF (not the vanilla P-160) from newegg. It is a mid-tower with 2 120mm fans and a window. It was $120 from newegg including shipping.

There are reviews of the P-160 case on tomshardware and anandtech. The only difference between the P-160 and the P-160WF is the P-160WF comes with 2 120mm fans and a window.

I don't think that Lian-Li is all it's cracked up to be lately. They are doing some odd things with their new cases. If you want to know the answer to "how much steel can you put in an aluminum case and still call it an "Aluminum Case" then go here http://home.earthlink.net/~topnurse/index.html

I put up all kinds of pics and info as well as a link to the [H]ardForum on this subject. I own quite a few L-L cases, but QC has really gone downhill lately :( But I am trying to move forward and finish my latest creation of a V1200 Koolance/DIY hybrid.

Why can't I just be a mundane and slog it out with the "good stuff"
