I have a project to do on Normandy and want to include a video of D-day. I've been able to find some small ones (like 160x160 res) on the internet, but need something like 640x480 or better- anyone know where I can get such a video for free?

Believe it or not, the film "Saving Private Ryan" is quite an accurate depiction of what happened. If all else fails, you may want to use parts of it.
I'm not sure, but I thought the real footage was kept from public viewing "for their own good", as the reality of what happened was far too gruesome.

2000 War and Peace show (19-23rd july) - we had a pathe news cinema booked
already and its also available on video. If anyone wishes to get hold of a
copy, contact me direct and I will send you the mans details."</A>
I've watched both the original and Saving private ryan, and the only discrepancy is the mines that were attached to the jumping jack type obsticles in the water.
You could use that movie and be almost right on the real thing.
