i have an idea for a silent case
if the cpu and north/south bridge chips were mounted on the opposite side of the MB a large heatsink the size of the MB could be attached held in place by spacers and the mb mounts.
next the psu would be the fanless type and the video cards could be cooled with heat pipes that attached to the large heatsink
all you would hear is the hdd and opticals spinning up
and possibly a large fan, which is quieter, blowing through a tunnel past the hdd, the memory and video cards ensuring everything stays cool. the large heatsink by the way would protrude outside the case.

could work, though a heatsink of that size would be pretty expensive and heavy. i dont think it would need to be the size of the motherboard though once a hs gets to a certain size it decreases how much more effective it gets the larger it gets. 150 mm across round is probly as big as it should.

go tell your alien brothers, that ronnie cordova says they're gay!!! sock baby
