f10 unless the setup partition has been deleted in which case you download
the setup install floppy and boot from it.

Where do I download the "setup install floppy" from?

I looked for it at http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/armada/us/locate/20_966.html,
but I couldn't find it.

I did find however the latest BIOS update, downloaded and installed
it. Works beautifully.

Thanks in advance,
Lynn

I've noticed that sometimes their database isn't perfect and doesn't always
list everything. The setup disk set is the same for all OS's and models of
the 1700 so maybe back up one and choose Dos or Windows 3.1 or something
else until it shows up. For some reason the site isn't working correctly
at the moment, I don't get any responses from it or I'd point you to the
specific link.
