+5V line, large fluctuations

Hi, I'm posting to see if anyone has any ideas or suggestions regarding some pretty big fluctuations on my +5V line for my power supply. I recently just purchased the 370W Enermax Noisetaker to replace a cheapo case psu. All the lines on the new enermax are solid except for the +5V. I use MBM 5 to monitor the voltages. I also installed Everest Home Ed. and it displayed similar results. The voltage on the +5V ranges from 2.24V to 6.62V (taken from MBM 5's high low chart). Temps are all good btw. The system I built currently is as follows:

P4 3.0 mhz LGA 775 530
gigabyte GA-8IPE775-G mb
512mb pc3200 ddr Mushkin ram
xfx GeForce fx 5700le, 128mb
nec dvdrw, nd-3500ag
seagate 160gb 7200rpm ide hd
370w enermax noisetaker eg375p

Any ideas?? thanks.

Your computer wouldn't function if those were accurate readings, MBM5 does read the wrong sensor sometimes. I'd connect a voltmeter to any red wire and find out what the voltage really is.

MBM often reports some of the rails wrong.

You didnt leave yourself with much room for expansion. The socket 775 CPU is very power hungry. In the future you should be thinking 400W minimum.

I'll have to try the voltmeter and see.

As for wattage, when I looked for a new one, I wanted a 400+W, plus a relativley quiet one, but I didn't/don't have much to spent at the moment, so I went with the 370w enermax. I dont plan on upgrading much for a while, so it'll work til then.

Always something to worry about I guess. Thanks for the help so far.

Check Gigabytes website for any download monitoring programs. They own programs work better than the others usually, eg. like ASUS PC Probe.

Are you having any stability problems? Have you noticed anything other that the fluctuation in MBM5? When your system boots up and it gets to the XP logo screen does the strobe under the logo move smoothly across the screen or does it hiccup?
