Hey guys,
I know several of the people on this group have asked me about my
Verizon Sony Ericsson T608. (Especially after the V710 came out).
Just wanted to let you know that I'm finally selling it on ebay (item
5745190281)
A little bit of background in case you guys don't remember my original
post about this a while back.. It's basically the last CDMA phone that
Sony Ericsson designed before pulling out of the market. Verizon had a
prototype as well (T607), which was never mass-produced. The intial
batch of 10,000 T608's were manufactured before the decision to pull
out of the CDMA market... Instead of destroying the phones, sprint
decided to sell them, and SOLD OUT IN UNDER 2 DAYS!!!
Anyway, shortly thereafter, some industrious folk figured out how to
unlock these phones to work on verizon, and I ended up with one of
them!! As you can imagine they are quite rare for sprint, much less
verizon! They work wonderfully, except for the fact that it refuses to
send outgoing text messages, and i don't know how to configure the web
browser.
My company got a sweet deal from another carrier, and I unfortunately
have to sell this phone...
The novel feature is that it has full OBEX (I synced my contacts and
address book with my PC over bluetooth)... It's also tri-mode (with
analog!) and I've had excellent reception (not a single dropped call
yet)... all with an INTERNAL ANTENNA (try to find another verizon phone
with an internal antenna!)
I've also used Nationalaccess on it over bluetooth with my Tungsten T3
and bluetooth laptop.
It's significantly smaller and sleeker than the v710...
As it says in the auction, I'm selling with an additional high-capacity
battery and Ericsson DCU-11 USB interface cable... I'll include
directions for activating it on verizon. Optionally, I will sell the
winner (or any other interested party a Jabra BT250 wireless headset
for only $45 more)

PS. If you've been bitching about the V710, this is the phone for you!
