Experience Slow Startup in Win XP

Hello to everyone.

I'm pc expert (lol) with following problem:
My main pc [Barton 3000 1gb ram with GIGABYTE 7VAXP ULTRA - F6 version Bios]
seem to have a strange behavior starting with Win XP SP1:

Does Post, ther the Promise FASTTRACK 133 Lite based on Fastbuold 1.32
detects 2 Maxtor 80+80GB HD in stripe mode 2.0,
then the screen change to XP startup logo, amd WAITs....

30 seconds. the HD are doing nothing.

Then start loading data very fast and boots in 80-90 seconds.

No spyware, no virus.

I think should be the driver ( 2.0.1000.34 23/04/2002) of raid Promise
PDC20276 ATA 133 RAID controllerbut could not improve this .
It seems like a software imposed delay, but could not skip this.

Need help. Any idea?

In the week end I'll try to install windows in normal 80gb maxtor to see if
disabling Promise
win xp sp1 or 2 boots fast.
