I have almost 20 InWin cases between work/home/friends bought between 2000-2002, and all ended up with the same problem with the power supply. Looks like something overheated in the PS, I think it's a resistor, but don't know for sure (see pic). They all have a Power Man PS, and I think I remember a while back reading an article about a huge batch of PS's that had sub-standard parts and hit big names like In-Win.

My questions are...
Has anyone else had this problem?
Do you remember hearing about this epidemic and if so, do you have a link to somewhere?
What is the item that looks burned out? Is it a resistor?
Any idea if there is a fix to this, besides replacing all these PS's?
Any input would be appreciated.
