My computer is REALLY acting strange!! If I forget to put a space between
words and then go back to do it, I have to put my cursor before the last
letter of the first word and then hit the space bar. If I put the cursor
between the words to be separated I get something that looks like this:
"frogsj ump" It puts the space between the fist and second letters of the
second word. If I put the space inbetween the words when I'm supposed to, it
works just fine. Another thing - when I hit the "shift" key with the
"number" keys to get the corresponding symbol, some come out correct, but
some don't. This is what I get when I hold down the shift key and the
number keys: ! @ # $ $% ^ ^& #* (
) _ +. When I just try to use the numbers above the letters,
this is what I get: 1 2 3 4 45 6 67 38 9
0 - =. This is the strangest thing I have ever encountered -
And last but not least - sometimes the computer puts two spaces between words
when I only hit the space bar once. I'm starting to think that my keyboard
is possessed, what do you think? Someone, please help me before I go crazy.
This happens no matter what program I am in - Word, Messenger, e-mail, even
happened when typing this question (I fixed it so you could read it). Makes
typing a letter easier to use snail mail - BITE MY TONGUE! Look forward to
hearing from anyone that can help me.

Hmm... Alright... I'll take a stab at it. Try it with an alternate keyboard?
Try removing the keyboard drivers and rebooting? Chances are that the keys
are stuck or there's a short in it somewhere or there's corrupt drivers
taking control of it. Check with your friends to find out who spilled the
beer in it a while back. <g> Otherwise it makes no sense to me either. :)
Then again it could be the Keyboard Gremlin Virus... (Okay, so that last
one's a bit of a joke. Probably not so funny to you as it's your keyboard
that's stuffing up.

Sounds like the keyboard might be dying; I'd suggest trying a different one
to see if that solves the problem. Borrow one from a friend's computer if
you can.

Just in case, check the cable to make sure it's plugged in solidly. With
the computer off, pull the connector out and reinsert it a couple of times
to make sure it's making a good connection. If it's a USB keyboard, try
plugging it into a different USB connector on the back of your computer.

I'd also suggest doing a complete scan of your system for viruses, spyware,
etc. with an up-to-date scanner.

Hi Galen and Nick - I tried other keyboards on my computer (had several
laying around). They either didn't work or else made my mouse inoperable.
So, I went out and bought a new keyboard - and - Ta Da - it worked. Thanks
for all your advice - I appreciate your help - I no longer have a possessed
keyboard!! Now if I can figure out how to use all the functions on this new
one, I'll be sittin' pretty. It's a Logitech Elite/Clavier LE - is there a
manual anywhere for this thing? One that I would understand?? LOL. Thanks
again, guys!

Look in your start menu > all programs > logitec > and you should find a
help option. (Might be under keyboard in the logitec folder.)
