My PSU has a 20pin power connector .. but my motherboard (DFI NF4 Ultra-D s939) has a 24pin connector on it .. will the PSU work with the MB? Can I just plug my PSU in the center, skipping the outer 2 pins on each side?? Will it work?? :)

The PSU is 450watts and brand new...

THX!!

It should have a 4 pin connector, look for it and then you should connect both. They should only fit one way.

I beleive you should plug it on the extrme right leaving 4 slot open on the left. Not sure they might mention it on your manual.
You have a ATX v1 PSU and the mobo is atx V2.0. The extra 4 pisn are an extra 12v rail to ensure stability. Any new PSU will have it.Or thy sell adapter for 5-9$

I face the opposite problem less than 1 week ago, my mobo is 20 pin and my new PSu was 24 pins. At first I was pissed but I noticed the 4 extra pins where detachable! so it fits and its ready for my next mobo.

Anyway good luck!

Cool, thanks for the help! I think I'll keep an eye out for a good ATX2.0 PSU when the price is right :)
