All photographs in My Documents are Paint.

Start>>Settings>Control Panel>Tools>Folder Options>File Types.

JPE
JPEG
JPG

All Have Paint Shop Photo Album 5 Picture.

This is a new Dell Computer and yet to use the CD-ROM to download Paint 5.

Enter My Documents>Rt Click Photograph>Convert Format>Save as type: JPEG
(*.jpg)>Save.

It produces another Paint photograph.

Require photographs to be changed to JPG. Please advise.

How do you know that they haven't been? The icon merely tells you which
program accesses the file. As you observed, all forms of jpeg are opened by
default by Paint.
Have you perhaps disabled view of the file type?
