I can see the temp in the BIOS... but I want to know what it is running at?
I think one of my fans has a temp sensor, can I see that also?

any suggestions?

135 F, boooooooooo

what kind of cpu is it?

Reply to alexi

damn 135 f thats about 57 c - Little too hot for me - Is that idle or load?

Reply to thematrixhazuneo

It is under full load now..
Editing images, ripping CD's...

I think it is these SCSI drives..

now it is 140 F

If thats load temp - then your "ok" But I like to cool mine a little more than that IMO.

Reply to thematrixhazuneo

I plan on adding 4 more SCSI drives soon.
I purchased some better fans, harddrive coolers and rear PCI slot type fan..

This should cool things down.

Reply to hombrewdude

what cooler do you have for the cpu?

Reply to alexi

It was part of a motherboard combo that I bought from Mwave.
I paid the extra $$ for an upgrade.

When I install my new cooling fans, I was going to remove the heatsink and fan and blow it out (dust)
I will see if there is a number on it.

Reply to hombrewdude

if you're going to take it off, might as well get a more efficient one, zalman and thermalright make pretty decent ones

Reply to alexi

I thought at the time I bought a rather expensive one...
Maybe it is caked with dust..
I will look first.

Can you recommend something for my Althon 2800+ ?
I am on Zalman's website and there seems to be a lot of cooling choices.

I would also like something that I can use on my next CPU upgrade, which will probably be AMD again

Reply to hombrewdude

I have the CNPS7000B-AlCu for my 2800+ and i love it. It idles around 95-105f depending on the temp of the room. It only reaches the 100s for me on really hot/humid days. On load i have never seen it go above 110f. Just make sure you have the four holes around the cpu, zalman has a compatibility chart for you to check out on the page with the cooler. The same cooler also works with amd 64 sockets, so you should be set.
