Xbox 360 / TV / Laptop

If i have an HDMI splitter hooked up into my TV could I plug an HDMI cable from my Xbox 360 and my laptop into the splitter and see my xbox 360 on my laptop. If not could you please tell me why?

you wouldn't see anything on your computer. your going to need something like the black magic intesity pro shuttle. it will allow for game recording and streaming, and you won't need a splitter as it doubles as a splitter.
