Microsoft disk check

I'm using win 7 64bit it says c: disk needs to be checked for consistency. Countdown timer stops at 1 second on skip disk checking. system just hangs there checking never starts. Anyone have solution?

    [#0005ff]Pop in your W7 DVD and select the Command Prompt option when it's offered. At the prompt, type chkdsk /r (including the space) and allow the five stage process to run its course. That should fix any drive errors the system finds.[/#000ff]
  2. Found the fix for those interested. Load win 7 disk and select repair start up. Many system items checked and check disk files repaired

    Found that selecting repair start up files more comprehensive solution. Thanks for quick reply.
